For too long, ovarian cancer has been under researched and underfunded. With more than 1,800 Australian women and girls diagnosed with ovarian cancer every year, fewer than half of these women will survive beyond five years.
Darrell Lea is a proud supporter of Frocktober, an initiative which encourages Australians from all walks of life to ‘frock ovarian cancer’ through fabulous and fun community fundraising activities and social media challenges.
Last year, ‘Frockers’ raised more than $1 million for vital OCRF-funded medical research, boosting the total raised by this unique campaign to over $16 million since it first began.
The Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation aims to exceed this amount in 2025 to fund lifesaving research that will accelerate early detection methods and improve treatments.
Investing in research is the key to increasing the survival rate and changing the outcomes for all impacted by this disease.
